How to Install Overview

Which Installation do you need ?

Its simple to install no matter what type of installation you require

Single or Standalone Computer

Watch Out can run on a simgle computer such as a home computer not connected to a network.

The following is a simple overview of what is required to install Watch Out on a single or standalone computer which is normally in the home.

To install :

• Download  the Watch Out software
• Unzip the downloaded file
• In the folder where you have unzipped the software there are 2 folders :

1. one folder for the Command Console
2. one folder for the Spy Client

We recommend you read the Readme.txt file before installing Watch Out as this contains detailed installation  instructions (see unzipped folder)

Command Console

• In the command console folder run the setup.exe install program (double click and it runs automatically)
• Follow the instructions

Spy Client

• In the spy client folder run the setup.exe install program (double click and it runs automatically)
• Follow the instructions
• Double click the registerspy.exe file to ensure the Spy Client runs whenever you computer starts up.

Screen Viewer

• The Screen Viewer installs automatically with the Spy Client and Command Console.
• You can run the Screen Viewer either through the Command Console or via the Start menu

Network

Watch Out can run across a Network and connect to hundreds of clients.

The following is a simple overview of what is required to install Watch Out across a Network.

To install :

• Download  the Watch Out software
• Unzip the downloaded file
• In the folder where you have unzipped the software there are 2 folders :

1. one folder for the Command Console
2. one folder for the Spy Client

We recommend you read the Readme.txt file before installing Watch Out as this contains detailed installation  instructions (see unzipped folder)

Command Console

• In the command console folder run the setup.exe install program (double click and it runs automatically)
• Follow the instructions

Spy Client

• The Spy Client needs to be installed on each computer to be monitored
• In the spy client folder run the setup.exe install program (double click and it runs automatically)
• Follow the instructions
• Double click the registerspy.exe file to ensure the Spy Client runs whenever you computer starts up.
• Make a  security setting amendment for 2 folders installed in Watch Out folder to enable write access to the folders
• Notify the spy clients as to the name of the computer running the Command Console

Screen Viewer

• The Screen Viewer installs automatically with the Spy Client and Command Console.
• You can run the Screen Viewer either through the Command Console or via the Start menu
